3 Days in Milan: A Family-Friendly Itinerary with Fashion, Football & Ferraris
Planning a short city break in Italy? Milan is the perfect 3-day getaway – packed with iconic landmarks, football fever, and even Ferrari thrills. This itinerary is great for couples, friends, or even families traveling with kids.
Day 1: Discover the Heart of Milan: Duomo, Castle & Parks
If you’re looking for things to do in Milan in 3 days, start right in the city center. Milan is known for its fashion, stunning architecture, and rich history – and no visit is complete without seeing the Duomo di Milano.
The moment we stepped into Piazza del Duomo, we were struck by the beauty and detail of the cathedral. You can visit inside or climb to the rooftop (save that for later!), but either way, this is a must-see spot.
From there, we walked through Milan’s charming streets to Castello Sforzesco, an impressive medieval castle. Right behind it is Parco Sempione, a peaceful green space where kids can run around, and adults can enjoy a relaxed stroll or coffee. It’s a great way to ease into the rhythm of Milan without feeling rushed.

Day 2 – Day Trip to Monza: Ferrari Driving Experience
Just 10 minutes by train from Milan, the town ofMonza is perfect for a short day trip – especially if you’re a fan of motorsports.
We came here for one reason: to drive a Ferrari at the Autodromo di Monza. It was an unforgettable experience – the kind of adrenaline rush you’ll remember forever. Whether you're the one driving or just cheering someone on, the whole setting is exciting and well-organized.
Before heading to the racetrack, we spent some time at Parco di Monza, one of the largest walled parks in Europe. It’s a peaceful and beautiful green space, perfect for a walk, a picnic, or just letting the kids run around. The park surrounds the racetrack, so it ties in perfectly with the Ferrari experience.
Monza itself is also quite charming, with cafés and historic buildings if you want to explore before your track time.

Day 3 – Duomo Rooftop, AC Milan Museum & Match Day at San Siro
Our final day in Milan was all about football and unforgettable views.
We began by visiting the Duomo rooftop – the highlight of any Milan visit. The panoramic views over the city are incredible, and the details of the spires up close are a photographer’s dream. It’s safe and accessible, even with children.
Later, we headed to Casa Milan, the official AC Milan museum, which showcases the club’s legendary history. If you’re a football fan, this place is a must – with memorabilia, trophies, and interactive exhibits that kids also enjoy.
To top it all off, we went to San Siro Stadium to watch AC Milan vs Lazio. The atmosphere was electric. Even though the match ended in a 1-1 draw, it was still a bucket-list experience for us. If you’re a supporter of AC Milan, watching a live game here is a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
